Dr. Kirsten has had a strong interest in complementary medicine since watching Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine restore her childhood mare back to riding after being lame and ataxic for over a year. Dr. Kirsten has had a strong interest in complementary medicine since watching Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine restore her childhood mare back to riding after being lame and ataxic for over a year. The mare had been seen by multiple specialists with very little improvement, but after acupuncture and herbs she went onto to take multiple state and national titles.

Dr. Kirsten earned her Veterinary degree from the University of Minnesota in 2008. She then completed a one year equine internship at a nine doctor haul-in facility outside Austin, TX. The internship encompassed a large diversity of clientele from racing, breeding and showing, to pleasure riding, including acupuncture on top PBR bulls. During her internship and veterinary schooling Dr. Kirsten was also able to shadow multiple TCVM practitioners throughout the US and spend one month in China and Korea with Dr. Choi and 13 fellow University of Minnesota students.

In 2011, while working in ambulatory equine practice in North Texas, Dr. Kirsten completed her animal chiropractic certification at Options for Animals in Kansas. She maintains certification through the International Veterinary Chiropractic association.

Just before Thanksgiving in 2013, Dr. Kirsten and her husband moved back to Minnesota to start her own all species chiropractic service. She completed her mixed animal veterinary acupuncture course at the Chi Institute in 2018, and completed her Certification in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2019. Since completing the coursework she has had the opportunity to work on animals from big to small including dogs, cats, horses and cattle.

In 2022 Dr. Kirsten added Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF) to her practice via a Magnawave Sol Pro. She has completed all levels of certification.

Dr. Kirsten’s professional interests include performance animals as well as geriatrics. She looks forward to adding additional modalities to her practice to help animals feel and perform their best.
